“They don’t make them like that anymore”

Ever felt like…

“The standard of some vintage movies outweighs the standard of what they make now

Like they just don’t make movies like that no more”

I feel the same way

Though I don’t know if it’s cus I had more time back then to really digest the movies.

Or it’s just a thing about people loving movies that came out around the time they had the freest time.

Cus everyone I’ve asked, “what are your favorite movies of all time?”

End up calling 2/3 movies that came out around the time they were in uni.

And they feel the same affinity towards movies that came out in “their time”.

Same with cartoons.

My generation prefers cartoons we watched on STV.

The next-gen prefers cartoons they watched on Cartoon Network.

And even Cartoon Network still has like two or more generations in it lol. The first set that watched the classic Ben 10

And the newer guys

Then every adult feels an affinity to the movies (or whatever they did for fun) – during their younger days. And says

“The standard of some vintage movies outweighs the standard of what they make now”

Vintage being more like “when I was younger”. Which is relative per person

PS. And this is super random.

Because I didn’t think of putting this here when I started thinking about this

But it just occurred to me that that’s the beauty of 7pm TV

We all used to have a better time with the entertainment of our own generation

But now…

With adulthood, our life is a bit different.

More shege per second seen than enjoyment.

This is why I love 7pm TV

Because it provides a community of therapeutic laughter

Using the one thing that brings us all together regardless of age – memes.

So join 7pm TV if you’re not already one of the 2,000+ community members

And also have you noticed it too? That they don’t make them like that anymore.
